Yazar: ferrisbuellersdayoffblog on 02 Şubat 2010 – 16:59 -1969: a little known revolutionist group kidnaps US ambassador Charles Burke Elbrick in commitment to spotlight Brazil’s military dictatorship. The kidnappers need the circulate of national prisoners and, more importantly, publish time. The authorities track them down – but dare they endanger the envoy? The film (from a ticket by Fernando Gabeira, a journalist who’d participated in the abduction) is somewhat reminiscent of Costa-Gavras, but without the ideological slate. Indeed, Bruno Barreto goes out of his way both to round out the ambassador (Arkin, exclude as usual), and to humanise one of the bona fide torturers. Nor are the radicals romanticised: they’re young, unpretending, and in over their heads. A tense, absorbing, character piece – and a square, balanced, verifiable ruminate on.
